Sweetener that checks the marks. Impressed, and happy!
Finally, a sweetener that gets it right. I've gone back and forth between sugar, honey, jaggery based sweeteners with one, or more caveats, ranging from unhealthy, under / overly sweet, to simply too messy to use. This one checks the marks for me: - Texture - Taste - Healthy - Sweetness Love using it with coffee, as well as drizzle over yogurt!

Love it
Tried it with my tea and in yogurt. It’s not overly sweet and has the rich flavor of dates. No weird aftertaste. Definitely rebuying.

Delicious Natural Sweetener, But Has Broken Lid
The Datesy Natural Sweetener Golden Date Syrup arrived with about 13 months left before expiration. Unfortunately, the lid arrived broken where it attaches to the screw on base of the cap. I am still able to use it because it snaps closed over the pouring mechanism, and there was an intact security seal under the lid, which was reassuring. As for the syrup itself, the flavor is wonderful. It has a rich, deep sweetness with almost a caramel-like note that is hard to quite pinpoint but very enjoyable. It dissolves easily into my coffee, which is one of my main uses for it. I like that it is a natural sweetener with minimal processing and a lower glycemic index. I have to be mindful of my glucose levels, but I still enjoy a little sweetness in my day, and this fits that balance nicely. I have not tried it in oatmeal yet, but I suspect it would be fantastic there as well. The product itself is excellent, but I do wish the packaging had arrived intact.

Great natural sweetener for baking
This golden date syrup from Datesy is a great natural sweetener option for drinks, cooking, or baking if you want something a little "healthier" than regular sugar. This particular syrup is, as the name suggests, a very light syrup, both in terms of weight and taste. For a syrup, the consistency is pretty thin, even thinner than maple syrup. It's still sticky and syrupy, though, so it can make a good substitution for any recipe that requires syrup in it. To me, the taste is very sweet, and to use the same comparison, tastes even sweeter than maple syrup. It's a bright, caramel sort of sweetness that I would personally find too overpowering to use as a topper on something, where the flavor would dominate. I think it does best in drinks or baked goods, where it can combine with other flavors that can complement the sweet, caramel flavors of the syrup. I baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies using the date syrup as a complete replacement for the cookies, and they turned out quite nice! They taste mostly like a normal chocolate chip cookie, but with strong caramel undertones. The packaging of the syrup is pretty good. It comes with a seal on it to keep the syrup contained, though I found there was still a bit of stickiness around the seal as I was peeling it off. The squeeze bottle is fine if you're putting the syrup into a measuring cup for baking, but if you're squeezing directly into a drink or something, the pressure is way too high, and the syrup comes out too quickly in a way that isn't easily controllable. I feel like I'd rather have a container more similar to honey or maple syrup, where it's just a lid with a hole in it, so I can control the speed of the flow without having to squeeze the container. I think the price point is great for a golden syrup like this one, it's fairly in line with other golden syrups out there (date syrup or otherwise). The 16 oz bottle will go quick if you're using it for baking (I probably used maybe 1/6th of the bottle just from my chocolate chip cookie recipe), but it'll last a long time if you're primarily using it for drinks or drizzles. Definitely a great option if you're looking for an alternative to sugar or other types of syrup.

I love dates, and this stuff takes it to the next level
Dates are one of my favorite fruits because of their high sugar content and chewy texture. What I didn't realize they could make date syrup directly from the dates to use as a liquid sweetener. I love the mild taste of this with its hint of a slight caramel aroma, but where this really shines is that it dissolves effortlessly in whatever you decide to add this to. Compared to honey it pours so much easier yet still adds the sweetness you desire based on how much you use. Since I didn't even know date syrup existed I had to look up if it crystallizes like honey. What I found out is that it can crystalize but at a much slower rate than honey, and if NOT stored in a cold area it might not crystallize at all. That to me is a super advantage. The 16 ounce squeeze bottle comes with a very secure inner safety seal under the cap so I know what I received hasn't been tampered with. I also like that it has one of those flip top caps that requires you to squeeze the container slightly before anything will actually come out. Those are good at preventing accidental spills if the bottle is knock over with the flip top open. I presently use honey as a sweetener in a lot of sauces I make but this might make the switch to date syrup a no brainer due to how easily it pours from the container while still achieving the results I desire.
