Exactly what I wanted
Picked it up right before deer season this year and it preformed flawlessly. Used it in the mountains of Pennsylvania on bright sunny days and cloudy rainy days. Nice and clear, no fogging and the display was plenty bright - even in full sun. No issues with ranging, even on trees and brush piles. Ranged out to 970 yards on a reflective surface. The ranges came back almost instantly. I'm not a high speed, low drag ultra-long range shooter - just the average guy chasing deer in the winter. This thing is perfect for what I need and it looks like it will serve me well for when I do build a long range gun. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Tough to beat this combination of features at this price
I was looking for a multi purpose rangefinder for everything from bowhunting to long-range precision shooting. I wanted something with accuracy on game-size targets at long distance and short. I also wanted to use it for steel targets at 1000+ yds.I couldn't find many competitors that offered these features in such a small package so this is the rangefinder I decided to go with. The g-force dx ARC rangefinder is programmable for rifle and bow modes. Bow mode gives you the highest point of travel of your arrow so that you don't take a shot with overhead obstructions of the arrow's flight path. Rifle mode allows you to program your caliber (based on 30 or so presets) so that you will know your holdover or turret adjustments for your scope. This is a pretty neat feature to have, but I use ballistics apps which are more precise for the specific load I shoot with. Switching between modes is easy, but I have found that I prefer the standard mode as opposed to using the special features. The display is an illuminated red display that can be very bright in low light conditions. I thought I would be able to use a standard black display like other rangefinders use, but you only get one option: illuminated red. On a bright day, it's VERY difficult to see, even on the highest brightness setting. I find myself clicking the range button, then covering the optical lens afterward so that I can see the display reading. You can shoot your range then point it into a shadowy area and read it well also. This isn't a deal breaker for me but might be for others.Accuracy is very good. The furthest I've gotten on a large reflective target, a house up the mountain, is 1377 yards. In the woods, trying to range through branches can be tough. I do the click and hold "scan" method to make sure I'm getting the distance beyond the limbs/branches instead of getting blocked by them.At far distances you really need to hold it steady to get a good reading. a cheap tripod works well for this since the rangefinder has built-in threading to be used on one.Durability is fantastic. I have used it hanging from my neck in pouring rain conditions, as well as below freezing conditions and it has no trouble ranging at all. Occasionally if i have it inside my jacket during the walk to the treestand the optical lenses will fog up, but they have a protective coating that prevents scratches so I can feel confident in just wiping them with a gloved finger without fear of damaging a lens. The rubber finish is nice for grip and the body is a strong metal/plastic that I feel confident will hold up over time. The 6x zoom is very nice to use in the treestand. I don't feel the need to carry binoculars as I can use this for quick glassing if I see movement.Focus adjustments are as easy as turning the objective but I don't find myself needing to use them often. For the price, this thing is exactly what I was looking for. It ranges accurately and has proven to be reliable in any outdoor conditions.

Bushnell G-Force 1600 yard range finder
I'm impressed so far. It's a sturdy unit....feels like it's made of heavy duty materials and not some cheap plastic thing. I'm mostly a bow-hunter, so I wanted something that ranged close in....and this comes in to 5 yards. I also wanted something to calculate angles, and this does it for both the Bow mode as well as the Rifle mode. It's not as intuitive as I thought it might be....these units have gotten many more features than those of the past, so I did have to read the instructions to get it set up. That said, the directions were straight forward and easy enough to understand. I was a bit worried about the red internal light display, as evening hunts in lower light can mean the target you are trying to see can get washed out. However, the internal display has 5 light settings and so far I haven't had a problem at all. I also have relatives out west and wanted a unit that could reach out and range a deer. My previous unit could only get a deer at 350 yards.....this says a deer target can be targeted at 600 yards. I've yet to test that, but I can target a neighbors house that far! So far this seems like a very good unit. I'm well pleased and would recommend it. I think my only modification would be to take some camouflaged tape and cover some of the shiny case material. I only gave it 4 stars because I can't verify the 600 yard deer range claim. If that turns out to be true....I'd have no problem giving this a full 5 stars. This unit impresses me!

OUTSTANDING RANGEFINDER
Wow ! I did hours and hours of research online- mostly reading users reviews- I have 20 years of experience using rangefinders for hunting and golf and this rangefinder is outstanding. I also have a bushnell sport older model, and I can say that this G FORCE DX is 1000x better than that sport model. I have used it hunting deer and it is unbelievable clear and fast with an easy to see display. I read user Reviews saying that that this rangefinder was hard to see in early morning and late afternoon, but those reviews were by people that didn't know how to change the brightness settings. You can easily and quickly change the brightness of the led display in a couple of seconds. That concern raised by those users is raised by lack of reading their users manual. The clarity of this rangefinder is very good. It reminds me looking through a good quality scope- very clear. I almost spent $100 more and bought a leupold but that model didn't have the bullet drop and angle compensation calculations built in. . I'm so glad I bought this one off amazon prime- 2 day free shipping.

Great rangefinder, decent price.
Went hunting this year with this rangefinder. Like others have mentioned, the readout for this Rangefinder is not very clear. However, i found it working by just locking the distance on the screen, and move the rangefinder away to somewhere darker to see the readout. Other than that, this rangefinder works very well.

and though I like the warranty of the Vortex
I've been debating between this and the Vortex Ranger 1000. I hunt whitetails in all seasons here in Indiana, and though I like the warranty of the Vortex, this is built to last a lifetime. I chose this model because of its accuracy to 1/2 yd., speed, ability to switch from bow to rifle mode, to compensate for angle to get true horizontal distance, and the rubber-armored metal housing. This will be my first season using a rangefinder instead of judging distance by sight. I've missed a few shots in my day because I misjudged the distance. This should help improve my chances, I think.

Very accurate range finder
Despite being an old model this Bushnell range finder it’s very accurate. I purchased this item for archery and find it more the adequate for my use. The only reason for not scoring it a full 5 stars is due to the fact that when used in direct bright sun light the monitor is almost impossible to read. This fortunately doesn’t happen very often. Overall it’s a very good product and one I’ll be more than happy to recommend.
