Best tape for a good price
I purchased this handlebar tape to rewrap the grips on my road bike. In the past, I have really liked using Lizard Skin for the cushion and grip but honestly it has just gotten to expensive in my opinion. I could no longer see paying over $30 to rewrap the handlebars. When I searched and read other reviews SRAM seemed to have the best product for the price and seeing as though they are a leader in cycle equipment I was pretty sure the product would be quality.I love the tight stretch that I am able to get when I wrapped the handle bars with this SRAM tape. The tape has an adhesive that keeps the wrap tight while you wind and gives adhesion to the next layer. Once finished, this tape looks amazingly professional and the comfort is outstanding. This tape gives a very cushiony grip and is very anti-slip. This wrap also came with an extra palm cushion to wrap into the grip, but I would recommend using the gel pads that can be purchased for additional padding. You also get a strip of finishing tape and bar ends.My only complaint with this tape is the same as others. Please include 12" more of wrap so that we do not have to rewrap when we come up 2" shorter than we wanted to. Also, the same goes for the finish tape one wrap around the bars is just not enough. I always have to use black tape to finish the wrap. These gripes are the same with all other wraps that I have used so it doesn't lessen my 5 star opinion of the tape. This tape is the best bar tape for the price in my opinion. Lizard Skin is also very nice but has gotten to expensive since the first time I used it. I did not receive any discounts or free products in exchange for me review. I just want to help others make good decisions with this purchase.

Get a grip!!! This is a good tape at a great price.
My experience with this product comes from wrapping a 44cm road handlebar that was padded on the top section with some Fi'zi:k gel pads. I had just enough tape to complete the wrap. Before installing I measured the tape and it was 79" or 200.66cm long. I tried to maintain an overlap of about half of the width of the tape.As others have commented this tape is very forgiving so rewraps are easy if you're not happy with your first attempt. I wrapped my bars with a fair amount of tension and the tape was strong enough not to break as others have done. Tensioning the tape is important because the adhesive on the back of the tape is not intended for holding its place on the bar permanently. It just makes installation easier. I finish off the wrap with several revolutions of electrical tape. I throw the finishing tape away because it's not flexible and the tape is not flat. Some have complained that this tape gets dirty easily. This is true because the tape has a porous surface but the problem is manageable. First, I've learned to ride with clean gloves. After every ride, I rinse the gloves off and if they look really grungy, I put the gloves on and wash my hands with hand soap (the foaming kind usually). The first time I did this with some gloves I been using for a couple of years, the water was a dark brown and it took several washings before the water looked reasonably clean. Second, at least every 2-3 rides (during the summer, every other ride), I spray the handlebars with a solution of laundry soap I then wrap a clean rag around the handlebar and pull the ends of the rag back and forth to scrub the bar. A spray bottle with water or a wet rag finishes the job. I just let the tape air dry.Another benefit of keeping your handlebars and gloves clean is that if you're eating during a ride, you're less likely to ingest some really nasty germs. All in all, this tape is a real bargain. It's reasonably priced and very comfortable for long rides. Because it's so forgiving even those new to wrapping handlebars can do a proper job as many reviews of this product attest. I can see no reason why I shouldn't standardize on this tape for all my rides.

Good quality wrap.
Have purchased for two different road bikes. I love the quality. I used the "extra" strips as padding for my hands above the brakes (intended for the back of each brake lever). Sticky backing is forgiving, I would feel confident with unpeeling two or three attempts in order to get the angle just right (only had to start over once). The black tape has small flecks of cork color throughout. The distance for each roll is not generous but with reasonably tight wrapping there was and extra 6" from each roll. People complaining about distance, apparently just wrapped too close together or not tightly enough. I was happy enough to buy it a second time. Yes I would recommend the bar tape

Very Good Bar Tape!
This is a well cushioned tape, which works well if you want a bit more isolation from road vibration or want a slightly larger bar diameter for comfort that the thinner variety. The colour selection is excellent. This tape does have a very thin section of 'adhesive' so you have to remove the paper covering it. If you have not applied tape before, be aware that the more adhesive there is, the more difficult it is to apply - you have to stretch it before putting it on the surface of the bar. This tape does not adhere that well - which is good. If I did not have electrical tape handy (But would have to pick up the roll and get the tape started) the SRAM bar tape would come 'unstuck' a turn or two - making it very simply to reapply it, cut and tape the ends down. Because the adhesive is light on this tape, you can stretch it while on the bar - which makes it easier for me to apply it in an even spiral.I sometimes mix the colour of the tape on my bars, with the drops being one colour and the top another - which gives a much different and custom look. (You can also braid the tape - look on Youtube for direction). I really like using the SRAM tape for this as its stretchy and relatively inexpensive. And, it holds up well since since its a synthetic cork tape - which can easily be cleaned.

Thicker on the bars and added comfort.
I wanted something thicker to re-wrap my bars and this has done the job well. It's thick in the middle third and tapers towards the edge so that it isn't too thick where it overlaps when you wrap. This also means that you need to be a little more careful on the overlap, I think that this is wear some have struggled with the length, especially if they are wrapping with a figure 8 on the hoods.I had to unwrap the first time and re-wrapped with slightly less overlap. As a guide the SRAM logo should be clearly visible, except on the inside of the tight curves. I still didn't cut much excess, maybe 5-8 cm, but it does work if you are careful with the wrap.I've put about 200 miles on it now and it's settled in nicely, provided the extra thickness on the bars and the extra level of comfort that I was after. Price wise it's in the middle ground and I think that it's work the money. If it lasts me a year or two before compacting I'll be happy.

Easy to fit and feels soft.
Replaced my stock tape which I ripped due to a crash. The pictures show the corking effect in the handlebars. people on other reviews say that it makes them look dirty but that isn't the case at all. i think they look very smart.Back to the product. Very easy to apply to my bike. Easy to remove to make adjustments. I felt there was loads left over but I didn't need the whole bar done.Comes with bar end caps. They look nice and are very soft and comfortable. Would u buy again. 100% yes.

Not very long but a decent bar tape
As bar tape goes these are really good. Wrap tightly and don't space this out too much. If you don't get this right you'll find the tape starts to separate. My main complaint (and it isn't just this tape) is I really want something longer. Not sure if that exists, as Richey seem about the same length and are very similar. LizardSkins are stupidly short and although slightly more comfortable are not practical for me. So with that minor caveat these are good.

Good for Price
Bought this to replace some old tape on a fixer upper touring bike. Definitely looks and feels better than the original tape. I'd say you definitely get what you pay for here. It does not have a cheap quality such as the unbranded £3-10 tapes but then you can still feel it doesn't have the expensive feeling quality such as the Lizard Skin tapes. It's neither a suede or leathery texture. The tape is fully Madrid of foam and what seems to be minuscule peices of cork randomly placed throughout the tape. The length has not been a problem to me such as others. However I can understand that it might be with very little wiggle room provided.

Great tape
Great bar tape. Not too soft, not too thin. Installed without any issues. Has little pieces of cork in it. Not sure what exactly does that achieve, but I sort of like the look. Overall very happy with it, and it matches the rest of the components. Would buy again
