You may not like the price, but it does what it's supposed to.
First, a disclaimer: I've been gaming for 26 of my 29 years on this planet and I've seen just about everything the industry has to offer to the consumer market. This also means I've seen pretty much everything in Sony's bag of tricks so far, and none of it really phase me. Doesn't mean I like it, or that I'm for or against Sony, it just means I've been around this block before a few times now. That said, I hate to call attention to the fact that any one who decides to knock off points for the price of this card isn't being fair. Yeah, the price is steep on top of everything else you'll need to get the Vita going, but at this point it really shouldn't surprise you that Sony will pull a proprietary memory card out of its hat for an exorbitant price. Thats just what you get when you go Sony. If you think cutting some stars off here is going to get them to knock down the price, you don't know Sony. Start a letter writing campaign or a petition, that might net better results. Really, since you have no choice but to use these cards, because Vita games require them, until someone comes out with a cheaper alternative (which as of my writing this, hasn't been mentioned as far as I know.. Usually Sandisk will do something like this) your only choices if you want to buy a Vita is to get a card, whichever size it happens to be, Or just not get a Vita at all.. Which is extremely limiting and disappointing, if you had your hopes up. If you do get a Vita and need a card, you need a card that works -And these cards do work. I have a 16gb and an 8gb ab both work perfectly, no bells and whistles, you just put it in your Vita and it'll start saving things to it. In fact, you can't really do too much with the Vita without putting a card in at all. You try to download or play anything and it'll quickly tell you your missing this vital piece of hardware. Seriously, the product works and that's all you need to know. Prices may be high, and they may drop one day, but till then you need to stomach them if you want to use this system -till then at least know they aren't selling you a shoddy item.

Decent storage for specific downloads
I have purchased this earlier in December(2015) for $20 on Amazon. I have to say that is much better than paying $40, which is insane! $20 is still a little bit steep, but definitely an improvement. I didn't come here to state the obvious though. Durability: I have a 4GB, 8GB, and 64GB I longer needed. I have used all for a year, and had no problems. Storage space: This depends on what you download, and maybe the VITA model as well. 2GB is reserved for the system, so you'll have 14GB. You may be able to hold 4 VITA games(more, or less). This includes 4 hours of videos, 400 songs, and 400 photos. These are just approximates though, which are based on the retail packaging of course. This is still just an estimate. It varies with memory size of content. I don't know why the information is different on the site. Here's what I currently have on my card: -Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and PlayStation Allstars Battle Royale(from cross-buy for Vita) -Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves (Vita) -FFVIII (PS1 Classic) -Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (PS1 Classic) -Castlevania: SotN (PS1 Classic) -Gex 2: Enter the Gecko (PS1 Classic) -Run Sackboy! Run! (PSN Game) -patches/DLC add-ons/saves I still have over 2000MB(2GB) of the card left. This might be good if you just want it for a couple to a few digital VITA games only. You would still have plenty of storage for certain PSN games, PS1, games, and other content. It all depends on what you're looking for. If you need it to hold more than 4 VITA games, I do not recommend it. Definitely buy it if you want the card. I highly recommend keeping the purchase total between $20-$25. Any higher is a big ripoff. If you're even lucky of getting it lower, then go for it! Go for the 32GB, or 64GB if you mainly want VITA games. Remember that patches are counted here. You may also want certain add-ons.

Great Price - Just keep watching for the deals.
I love my Playstation Vita. Which I bought here, on Amazon, for a great price. Think of it as an Ipad 4 that also plays PS3 games and you'll be close. The only downside to the Vita is that Sony forces you to buy memory cards, such as this, in order to do anything. Consensus is that Sony actually loses money on the Vita, but makes up for it with the sale of these cards. If you didn't already know, Sony sells cards of the same capacity in standard format for roughly 20% of what the Vita cards go for. So - the only sane thing to do is watch for sales, as when I bought this, and then grab one or two cards. As usual, the card shipped quickly and operated as one would expect. Thanks to Amazon's sale, I also bought it for $30 less than at local big box stores, or even other online sites.

The perfect size for far too much cost.
These things are overpriced as hell, stop! ...Before you go slapping that not helpful, go look up any micro SD card and tell me this thing is fairly priced. Also, be mindful of the review date and if the price has changed, you know if it's not 2014 and you're reading this review on a holographic screen in your flying car ...on MARS. :| With that said, I've had a 8GB before this one and then this 16GB one and I can say the 16GB version is far far better for those who may rarely download titles. I don't really dig digital copies, especially for consoles/handhelds, I like collecting them. Buuut with cross-buy I've wound up with a few digital titles along with PSOne classics which are awesome- but can be fat on your tiny card. I have quite a few games installed ranging from PSV, PSP and PSOne titles and I still have some breathing room. Problem is with the Vita, it's hard to avoid digital stuff between cross buy and the many titles you can only get digitally. 16GB is the card you want, especially if it's on sale and 8GB is the absolute minimum you should look at. If you can only get the 4GB? Freaking wait, after formatting you won't have enough room to install Final Fantasy VII, a PSOne game, never the less some of the larger Vita games which can weigh in at 2-4GB or more. Uncharted and Persona 4 were the largest Vita games last I looked both near the 4GB mark...if you're downloading these. But even still the games are fat and will fill your card fast so if you were to get one? 16GB is the best, 8GB minimum, 4GB? Don't bother.

This is a review of the product.
As stated in the title, this is a review of the actual product and not whether or not Sony is validated in their profit seeking venture of proprietary, overpriced memory card sales. (To that note these things are ridiculously priced and don't offer nearly enough space for dowloadable games/content). Anyways, the product itself is much smaller than what I had expected, and fit in nicely in bottom slot for my PS Vita. So far I've installed 5 games on there and i'm already running out of room (which is something I expected but I wasn't willing to dish out $80 for the 32 gb). The download times from the psn store to the Vita are quite lengthy even with my upgraded internet connection, but I cannot attest as to whether or not this is due to the Vita, the PSN store, my internet, or the card itself. From other reviews this is supposedly ranked as a class 2 memory card (although I cannot actually confirm that), but if that is the case it is definitely on the lower end of the speed spectrum for memory cards. Hopefully you won't be installing games too much so this aspect will not really affect you on a regular basis. I will say this, if you plan on downloading a lot of free games from the psn store, I suggest going for the 32 gb or even the newly introduced 64 gb card. Most big titles take up at least 2-3 gb and that's without dlc and patches. Indie games even take 1-2 gb per game and so the card itself fills up rather quickly.

This is a good Card But a lot of Hassle
As far as Memory choices for the PS vita or PS TV...There isn't Any.... That's right you can only use Their specific memory and it is pricey even after the system has been out a while, Now i ran into a few problems Read on and i will explain. First I Ordered that PS TV Bundle it came with a 8gb memory stick also note i got stuck paying a extra thirty dollars for the bundle because amazon was temporarily out of stock..and there was only one new bundle left at the time for 130 seems like trickery to me but i got it anyways.. Did one day shipping it got here hooked everything up just fine but the moment i started using the supplied 8gb vita memory to download games such as sword art online and soul sacrifice delta i started getting errors and had to delete the games and then re-download them, The card worked for another 2 days with various errors. Then BOOM. It stopped working all together Tried everything. safe mode, reformatting which it would not let me do Such a headache it was. So i contacted Amazon and they decided to give me a 20 percent discount which allowed me to put 7 bucks with it and get this 16gb...Not MY Account has not Been credited yet but i am waiting, I Also kept the chat log in-case they say they did not agree to the discount. But i am pretty sure they will come through. But it was all a big headache and If you Get a PS TV Bundle Beware the memory card may be utter garbage.... Maybe Sony had only surplus memory laying around and threw them in the bundle to save money because this New 16gb is working like a charm.... I Hope it stays that way. Also note a 8gb card isn't really that good for downloading games won't hold much and also seen though this card says 16gb you only get 14gb but that's how it goes with all memory storage. I Hope this reviews helps someone Out. Also if you plan on using your pc to back up your games from your ps tv memory card be prepared to wait 50 minutes a game and a backup of everything takes about a hour and ten minutes but when you try to restore it to the ps tv it will take 7 Hours No Joke. i thought i had wrong stuff setup but not that is the standard time it takes for the ps tv

Excelente producto, excelente precio

Gran almacenamiento, buen precio
