E-MODS GAMING® 2X Replacement Analog Stick Thumbsticks with Tools for PS4 Controller

Have only been using for a few weeks... My original sticks were worn down and torn a bit. **These work great**. Recommend watching a few videos on how to disassemble PS4 controller as there are a few steps that are tricky (initial case disassembly and springs on L/R 2 buttons mostly) to get these in. It should take about 10-30 minutes if you don't lose a spring or not properly put it back together (some internal connections are very thin and tiny pull/push ribbon connectors) I can't compare to a "new" PS4 controller but due to long term wear and tear on my old sticks these do not appear to be 100% exact replacements for the original/OEM PS4 dual shock controller thumb sticks. My originals were more "rubbery" and soft which *may* have been from long time use, sweat, etc. IMHO: All the small differences are improvements. The only noticeable differences I saw were: 1. The tops are coated in slightly harder rubber (the size, color, fit, etc. looked identical. Not sure about the texture on top as my old ones had worn smooth). The harder rubber is actually a bonus for me as previously I was having issues with my clip-on KontrolFreek Ultra thumb stick extenders popping off. With the slightly stiffer rubber of these replacement sticks (and with new texture/no wear as a bonus), my extenders stay in place. The harder rubber (or just the newness?) is not an issue for me when playing (no thumb slippage, etc). 2. The "rounded edge" of the top of the stick is stiffer than my worn originals. This is a bonus when using the KontrolFreek extenders as it grips better. They feel less "mushy" than my originals. They feel sturdier so they are probably less likely to tear on the edges like my originals eventually did because they were soft. Just to be clear: the rubber is slightly stiffer, not hard. 3. It's possible the texturing on these is a little different than the originals. I actually like it better as these feel like they will hold up longer before going smooth.

Great kit, came with everything you need. Only thing is.......I was sent 2 different sticks. One tall and narrow, one short and wide. Doesn't really effect anything but...... I know.

I made sure to order from e-Mods so I would not get the plastic thumb sticks that some other reviewers discussed. The replacement thumb sticks I received are perfect Sony OEM. These have the rubber grips that are molded into the plastic. I looked very carefully and compared my originals to these and I can't spot any differences, all the way down to the plastic mod lines and marks on the underside of the sticks. Although they did not come in any sort of official Sony packaging, there is no indication, that I could see, that these are not 100% genuine and come out of the same Foxconn or Sony factory. Very happy with the purchase. The installation took about 15 minutes as I've never taken apart the new PS4 Dual Shock controller. I'm sure there are good videos out there, but it was not too difficult. 4 screws on the underside of the controller followed by one screw holding the circuit board to the controller. There were 2 ribbon cables that had to be removed, one for the light bar and the other for the touch-pad. Both were easy and the smaller of the two had a small locking lever that you have to pop open or pop down to lock down the ribbon cable. Again, pretty easy even for my big XXL hands. Again, very happy with the purchase. My order took 16 days to get here from China but I was in no rush and now my second-hand PS4 controller looks and feels as if it was brand new.

Really easy to install. Original sticks were peeling. This have a different feel to them, maybe a bit more plastic feel with that rubber feel mixed in. I think they might be a tad smaller. I use Kontrol Freeks and the one on my left stick can spin pretty freely, though it could just be the Kontrol Freek, not being as tight as it should be.

I found these replacement thumbsticks to be fragile in two ways: 1) The rigid plastic within the rubberized thumb pad broke within the first several uses, so that pressing the stick in one direction makes the pad flex and bend. This made the thumbstick more or less useless. 2) The texture of the rubberized grip wore off extremely quickly, leaving little black pieces of rubber all over the place.

The replacement sticks work great. However, installing these is a fairly extensive process. You will end up breaking 2 clips inside your controller in the process of separating the faceplate from the back of the controller. The good news is that breaking the clips really doesn't impact anything about the controller or change how it operates. If you're not up for taking apart the controller this is not the product for you. If you are up for taking the controller apart these will definitely do the job and you'll be happy!

These analog sticks work great for their price, however you may want to know a couple details before purchasing. 1) Adding Rubber Grips - (Short Answer) Was not able to use rubber grips. Starting with completing an easy installation I immediately put on rubber grips in attempt to decrease ware for the thumb sticks. Then proceeded to jump into playing a game, immediately finding that the hollow centers of the analog sticks did not have a proper depth resulting in a massive amount of friction from the underside of the rubber grip against the controller. I then tried to pull the thumb sticks a bit out only to find they went to the same position after clicking the thumb stick down multiple times and if I pulled the thumb sticks out to far there would be friction from another part of the inside of the controller rubbing against the spherical part of the analog stick. End result, removing the rubber grips. 2) Play time and level of wear - (Short answer) Will wear quick if you play a ton, but have no reason to believe they will if used casually. I began using these twenty days prior to this post. I cannot give a proper number estimate in which I have used these, being that It would cause mental anguish realizing the number of hours I have spent these past twenty days playing video games. However, I can paint a quick picture. I am a full time college student who is a massive introvert and on a summer break free of obligation. Spending a day (7-9 hours) on video games feels like a blink and I more often than not plan on waking up the next day and starting again. This level of milage took the rubber part of the thumb sticks straight off the plastic center stiff portion of the thumb sticks. They still work, but the rubbery portions fold down when shifting/moving the weight of your thumbs to dictate the movements of your in game avatar. In conclusion, these thumb sticks are great for their price, but may not be the best fit for you if you put in an excessive amount of hours in video games and want a thumb stick that will last a long time.

My original Dualshock 4 had begun to peel on the analog sticks, with the rubber coating coming off. I just finished installing these new sticks in my Dualshock 4, and they work great. As other reviewers have stated, they feel more durable and solid than the factory sticks. However, they are almost identical. They sit at the correct height, have a full range of motion and the click feels the same. Hard to tell if durability will hold up over time, but I spent about ten minutes playing with the new sticks and it makes the controller feel brand new again. The only area of improvement may have been the addition of instructions, but YouTube got me through it with ease.

Really fast delivery, arrived in two days even without Amazon Prime. Feels like the original but I haven't installed them yet. The product looks good and made of plastic. Not too expensive and great replacement for my controller as the rubber went off the original sticks

純正スティックのゴム部分がはがれてしまいしばらくはアタッチメント式のゴムをつけていましたが、純正側のゴム部分が無くなるとアタッチメントがズレにズレて操作どころじゃなくなってしまったので、反応が悪くなった左スティックのメンテ(清掃・接点復活剤)を兼ねてメンテデュアルショックを分解してのパッド交換を決意。 交換した最初は「お、いいじゃん」となったのですが、次第に「あれ、なんでこっちに動くの」と違和感が発生。 なんと、スティックが中央に戻らず入力方向で固定されていたのです。 これは参ったなと再度分解して問題箇所を突き詰めた所、パッド下の笠が大きいのか、入力方向によってはクリアランスがなくて引っ掛かっているとが分かりました。 そこで純正品と比べてみてびっくり。笠が一回り大きいんですよね。(写真1枚目) 笠の径の問題だけであればヤスリで削ればなんとかなるかなぁ、と思いギコギコ削って径を合わせてみました。(写真2枚目) そして嵌めてみると、引っ掛かりもなく良い感じ。 その後コントローラーを組みなおして操作しても、引っ掛かったりと言うことはありませんでした。 数百円の製品なので、まぁ仕方ないかなと。 自力でヤスリ掛けまでやる気概でいる人ならば、その他の不満は無いので"買い"だと思います。
