Friendship bracelets are decorative bracelets made from cotton thread. They are exchanged all over the world as symbols of friendship and peace, mostly among young adults. Traditionally, friendship bracelets are handmade, so that the friend wearing the bracelet has a gift of time and energy as well as ornamentation. Friendship bracelets should be worn until they wear through and fall off naturally, a process which can take anywhere from a few months to over a year, depending on how the bracelet is made and worn. The most common type of friendship bracelet is made with embroidery floss, which is sturdy and brightly colored. Other types of textiles can be used as well, although the thread is generally kept thin so that friendship bracelets will not get too bulky after they are made. In some cases, beads will be added to the friendship bracelet for extra decoration. The process for making a friendship bracelet is related to macrame or crochet, and involves making a series of small knots. The roots of friendship bracelets can probably be found in Native and Central American traditional fiber arts, which included brightly colored wrist and ankle bands made from knotted threads. The designs used are also very common in Native American art, and include elements like stripes, simple animal figures, and checker patterns, depending on the skill of the crafts person. Friendship bracelets appear to have become popular in the United States in the 1970s, when many people were exploring traditional crafts, and soon spread to the rest of the world as well.

Beautiful Product, Beautiful Price
Bracelets are very well made. They are made of thin string with a wavy pattern in the middle, though they are very strong. Considering they shipped from Peru, the bracelets arrived early!!!!! My daughter was sad that they wouldn't arrive until a week later, but they arrived in 2 DAYS! The bracelets have an adjustable string that you can tie loosely or tight. I received all six in a neat little envelope. At first my daughter was confused as to why there was an envelope with her name on it, but it's actually rather clever. The products are well made, adjustable, in fun colors that my daughter, who is 12 turning 13, loves. They are however for larger wrists, and were big on her even tied tight because she has rather small wrists. I'd suggest these for anyone who wants genuine, hand-crafted, beautiful work for less expensive! Loved e'm overall!

AWESOME
WOW!!! It told me I would get them the week after I ordered it BUT they came in just 4 days! They came right on my birthday and their such a good price. Good quality, stays on tight. Make sure to put the 2 end strings in the loop THEN tie the knot. I had my mom and sisters do it for me because I can't tie a bracelet that's already on me. You just have to make sure to tie them good. I got all 6 and they are very pretty colors and designs. Some of the designs are 3D, which is very nice. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS IF YOU WANT TO BUY SOMETHING VERY CHEAP, PRETTY,, WITH EXCELLENT QUALITY (¯`•¸•'¯)

The only reason I gave these 4 stars instead of 5 was purely my mistake. Based on the picture I thought I would be receiving 12 bracelets and not 6. The offer does say Set of 6 but I was misled.I am a Spanish teacher and purchased these as incentives for my students and they are nicely made and the colors received are good for males or females and they love to receive these.

Bracelets
They are multicolored bracelets in fun, joyous colors. I bought them for my lady, and we talked about how much we liked them when we saw them in Peru. Now i doubt that these are sold in the same fashion as the ones over in South America, but these are a great alternative! Perfect as gifts for sharing too (although that was not my intention when i bought them for my gf)

Exactly as described, but still disappointing.
These bracelets arrived looking exactly like one of the product's pictures on Amazon, but I was still disappointed. I was hoping there would be more variety, as the second product picture on Amazon showed. These bracelets are very well priced, but, in person, they aren't much to look at. I won't return them, but I won't order them again either.

Rating a "TOY?"
First I'm baffled at the questions to write a review for these. Yes I'm over 13, the "toy" is not fun as I don't play with it. It is not educational?Now for the PRODUCT itself: I liked the variety of the bracelets we get, although some don't seem to have the strings where they easily go through the hole to tie them off. I do a general tie so I can remove during showers or swimming.I have just ordered my 2nd order of this product, hoping for more variety and maybe better ties.I do like this product. The price is fair and at least for now it has free shipping.

They came all in different colors and i bought these months ago and are still looking great as i just bought them. Great condition, great material, great price range for a set of 6, no repeating colors, and arrived faster than expected.

Would've preferred pairs
Good quality however the seller said that incohkd get matching pairs and didn'tSend them that way. I got 6 different bracelets, which wasn't as fun. Typically with friendship bracelets there are pairs and you and your friend wear the same one, but with 6 different bracelets that's impossible
