Hunter X-Core XC800i Indoor Sprinkler Timer, 8 Zone Irrigation Controller for Lawn and Garden, Easy to Program, Automatic Watering Schedule, Seasonal Adjust, No Wi-Fi Required

Great sprinkler controller. I have gone through sprinkler controllers about every two years when they inevitably fail. This was my first adventure with Hunter. All of these are pretty easy to install once the sprinklers are wired and this one was no exception. The Hunter is easy to program and change settings. All of its functions have worked without fail. A temporary (?) breathe of fresh air after dealing with Orbit controllers last last several years.

Had this model installed in 2013 on a new build house. It worked fine for 11 years, and failed during an intense thunderstorm. Maybe an electrical surge. Not sure. The interesting part is that both the 24v transformer/adaptor failed and the controller itself failed as well. I had to junk both pieces. Installation and setup is easy and takes about 10 minutes with basic tools. That is, if you have your wiring and everything else in place already.

My old Hunter Pro-C had several modules that failed after 12 years. It would have cost as much to replace the modules as to purchase a new Hunter XC800i 8-Core. The feature set of the XC800i is virtually identical, and the 8-Core has enough stations for me since I only had 7 stations in use on my old Pro-C. Installation was straight forward using the wires from my old unit. Programming it was a breeze since I just reset up the old program on the new one unit. Since the controls are basically identical, I was finished everything in under an hour, including removing the old unit. The only caveat is that the XC800i is smaller, so the mounting screws aren't in the same location as the old unit. As a result, I have a mounting hole in my dry wall from the old unit that is not covered by the new unit. The XC800i seems to work exactly like my old Pro-C after being in service for about a month.

Easy replacement for my old Hunter Pro-C version and kept the outside housing and installed the one third sized X-Core inside it. Similar contol to the older unit.

Easy install and simple to follow instructions and setup in less than 15 min. Worked perfectly!

This was the replacement for my other timer. I like this brand and will continue to trust it to keep watering my yard watered. Great size and easy to read. Good price point

Used this 8 zone to replace a hunter 6 zone. Works fine.

My previous unit was over 21 years old and was unreliable, meaning it wouldn't always follow the program. This unit was an almost straight across install. Be sure to take a photo of your wires so you keep your irrigation zones in the proper order. Otherwise it was a very simple install which took about an hour at most. It was very simple to program, maybe a little easier than my previous one.I did a test run and it is working great. 4 Stars because the LED readout could be a bit larger and easier to read.

Perfect replacement for our 24 year old Hunter Controller. Plug and play with our existing wiring for 7 zones. Also to Run all stations manually simple hold down forward arrow.

Works great. It needs to housed inside or at least out of the whether.
