Radar Mount Suction Mount Radar Detector Bracket - Valentine V1 Radar Detector

Does exactly what I wanted... a permanent device to hold my detector on the front windshield and has never fallen down! Excellent construction and design. I was able to position it just below the inside rear view mirror.

I was hesitant to purchase after reading some negative reviews. Some said that the suction cup was too weak and others said the arms didn't stay adjusted. After receiving the mount I could easily see that the quality if the mount was far superior than I expected. The arms are made of very strong metal with butterfly screws for easy adjustment and the suction cup is lever activated which means that you could probably stick it to a 10lb weight and lift it off the ground. After driving to maryland to buffalo and then to toronto and back to maryland I didn't have to touch or adjust the mount once. I am not sure why others were unhappy with this mount. Possibly their windshields were dirty or they just didn't tighten the butterfly screws sufficiently. I would definitely recommend this mount to anyone who is looking for a quality mount for their valentine one detector.

This product is amazing. So is the company. I had an accident where my car was totaled and the V1 holder came out without any damage at all and was still firmly attached to the cracked windshield. The range of motion is unbelievable and being able to extend the arm down so quickly is a plus. I bought the 12 foot long cord for the V1 that they sell, ran it along the lining of my car to the cig. lighter and never even had to take the v1 out because I would fold it up above mirror so no one could see it. You can also combine this product with the 12 foot cord and then buy the hard line they sell. Also, the store was willing to accept me returning the product because I had a car accident. I'm now looking to find a car and either buy this again or upgrade to the mirror mount. Definitely making a purchase for a hard line install as well. This store really impressed me.

This thing has more moving parts than am NFL linebacker knee brace! No really, works great, figure out you detector angle, tighten thumb screws, all good.

This is very well made for the price. Gives me the ability to fit the window contour of my new car much better that the V1 mount. I've used suctions cups for years. Heat and dryness can make them fall off over time. I typically replace them every few years. Also I've learned to apply so clear silicone caulking under the suction cups and they stay very secure. I have also used a visor mount and a rear view mirror mount in other vehicles. They are of course much more secure vs suction cups. But their placement is limited. If you want a suction cup mount, this one is a great option.

Buyers beware as soon as weather is cold outside the suction is no good and your radar falls off windshield. I bought 2 of these and had no problem in the summer and fall. Now winter time and these sections do not work at all!!

The suction cup is made out of plastic which does horrible and melts in the hot weather, but i guess its expected for a 20$ product. Other than that the mount is decent and does the job, but nothing special if you live in hot conditions make sure to take the mount off every time you are leaving the car in the sun .

I just received this mount today and it fits my V1 Gen 2 perfectly. The suction cup is solid and mount is study enough not to move around with the motion of the vehicle. I stuck it directly to a cool windshield on a 45 F day with no problems. I have two cars and two motorcycles and move my detector from whichever I am using than day. It's easy to remove the V1 from this mount. I just received this mount today, so I can't comment on the longevity. I will probably order one for my other car too and replace the weak suction cup mount that came with my V1. For the price, this is 10x better than purchasing a factory type clip suction cup mount. I wish I would have purchased this years ago. It would have saved me from the frustration of the factory mount not sticking and my radar detector crashing onto the dash...especially when it's cold outside.
