TEAC PD-D2610 5 - CD Carousel Changer
What's wrong with this picture? I walk into a store where 3 salespeople are standing around talking - and don't stop talking to wait on me....What to do?.....Go home, go onto Amazon.com (my favorite place to shop), and order a TEAC 5 cd changer at 12 noon; it's delivered the very next day, at 11 a.m. I thought the set up would be complicated, but I simply pulled out the old 5 cd changer, and installed the TEAC in about 5 mins. It works perfectly, easy directions, easy to install, and sounds great (well, I have it hooked up to my home theater setup). The most difficult part was getting the electric cord thru the back of the entertainment center. This is a great unit and Amazon makes it easy to obtain, at a reasonable price. It plays CD-RW cds, and MP3 files recorded on CD-R. No more skipping all the homemade cds in the changer. Continuous music has been restored for the holidays. I recommend this unit.

TEAC PD-D2610 5 CD changer
I bought this CD changer about two months ago. Easy to install and sounds good. Can't say much about dependability yet. So far, it works just fine. The only inconvenience I have noticed, as I read in reviews before buying this changer, is that in the shuffle mode, it does not shuffle songs but only CD's. So you listen to one CD at a time, but not nescessarily in the order of the discs in the machine. Shuffling songs on the CDs would be better. Overall, worth the expense and great sound for the buck.

A good replacement unit
We purchased the TEAC PD-D2610 5-CD Carousel to replace our failing carousel that was part of our 19-year-old Sony system. Out of the box, unplugged the old unit, plugged in the new, and we were up and running with no problems. We have had it about six weeks, used it heavily during holiday season. I was forewarned about not being able to power on and off and the lack of disc shuffle. Because of the location, the need to push the power button isn't really an issue for us, nor is the disc shuffle. Better sound than before (probably because the old one was beginning to do weird things). I'm glad to be able to play CD's that I burn on my computer, which I couldn't before. Through my research I was aware of how few of these machines are available now and glad that we could add it into the old system. Good product, great price.

Good component but no full function remote
Works great and easy to use. One big drawback however is the remote is not full function as it will not turn on and off the machine. That feature does not exist. You must turn on and off the machine manually. I probably wound not have purchased this model if I had realized that.

Big but good
To be fair, this item has not gotten a huge workout since I bought it in June but it has done everything it's supposed to do & very nicely. Setup was very easy as far as which wires to plug into the amp & it has played CDs & MP3 disks very nicely. I have not explored the various program options but it serves my purpose well as a way to play my music with our "home theatre" amp & speakers. It IS big - I did measure it before ordering but they don't include the extra half inch you need for the hookups in the back - I had to cut out a large hole in the back of the console for it to fit behind the glass doors. If you have an open setup or a very large, flexible setup for your stereo or HT components, it won't be an issue but if space is a question (esp. from front to back) be sure to allow for this beyond the stated measurements. It was still a good price for a 5 disk changer. Note: no power control on the remote, you must turn it off on the front of the unit. Not an issue for me but may be for some, depending on your use.

Good solid changer
Excellent sound, little if any digital to analog distortion. Mechanism works well as expected. A friend said he didn't know they still sell these old CD plalyers as he uses an Ipod dock. I find the sound quality slightly better than an Ipod dock. This CD player will handle MP3 music computer recorded in the data mode, which means that an ordinary CD can handle about 3 to 4 hours of songs. The shuffle mode works on data MP3 CDs. My only complaint, is that the CD player only shuffles one CD at a time. I would prefer to have it shuffle several times and then rotate to another CD. Also be careful when inserting the CD, as sloppy quick insertion can cause a jam up.

TEAC 5 cd player
I had a Pioneer 6 cd cartridge player that I just loved for many years - however, in the past months, it started not wanting to play cds at will - so I could no longer count on it - I did research and found that there were very few multiple cd players in the market - most being too expensive - after reading reviews on Amazon about this player and the fact that the price was so low - I took the plunge and bought it - I am so glad I did - have had it now for about a month and am totally happy with this player - It holds 5 cds and comes with a remote control - it plays all my cds both originals and burned disc from my computer - I would highly recommend this player because for the price you can't go wrong

Okay when it worked, but it didn't work for long
I purchased this player to use at an event where we needed music over many hours, switching often between tracks and discs. I tried the player out at home after receiving it and experienced some very minor issues but decided to use it at the event. Unfortunately the player stopped working correctly quite early in the event. The major problems were the disc tray not opening and the carousel not moving between discs - sometimes it would play one track on a particular disc, other times nothing would play. We scrambled to find another player and managed to make everything work, but it was a major inconvenience and caused a lot of stress at the time. The good news is that the return and refund with Amazon were easy and handled quickly. Looking again at the other reviews it seems there are perhaps some quality control issues - many units work fine, but a significant number have problems out of the box. If you don't mind taking a chance and/or dealing with exchanges this could be a good player for you at a decent price; I took the chance and lost at an inconvenient time, but the situation was resolved in the end. I won't, however, consider buying this Teac player again.

The CD Changer is the wrong voltage for UK. It should be advertised as being unsuitable for UK.

Found a bit of trouble with the transformer vibrating against the PCB/chassis, but I'm an electronics tech among other things...screws tightened, problem solved. Probably due to getting a bit shook during shipping. Still love how it sounds!

It stop functioning just under 6 months of purchase and manufacture would not honor warranty stating amazon is not an offical dealer of its products. and it seems I am out of luck with the return policy for Amazon...It opens and closes but cant seem to read and ofcourse play the CD
