11 Wood Carving Chisel Woodworking Gouges Hobby Tools

I got this set to use on gourd carving. I have not used them on wood, but the smaller chisels work great on dried gourds for various artistic faces and creatures. They are really sharp, so should work fine for small wood projects. The quality is good for the price. I would buy these again.

Gave as gift to my son-in-law, who loves using good hand tools on his woodworking projects.

Lot of potential. I haven't really put them to the test yet but they arrived in a simple package and they look hearty. I plan to make a leather or canvas wrap to hold them in. I purchased these to help me with wood inlays. I like how they are easy to sharpen in spite their custom contours I just wish their handles were rounded out or a bit beefier. I'm very optimistic and for such a great price too!

I purchased this set based on reviews, but it is a pretty poor choice. (Makes me wonder about the other sets that received worse reviews.) My disappointment is partly because I wanted to make small (narrow) cuts, but the angle on the gouges is very poor. None of the gouges that I have tried (out of the package) will remove wood from the work piece.

Like most chisels, these were stone dull as received. The good news is that I will put in a lot of work trying to salvage them and use them. The grind marks are deep, lots of unnecessary flash and the handles are quite small. I'm wishing myself luck on this project.
