Basic Electricity: A Self–Teaching Guide (Wiley Self–Teaching Guides)

I like the method used here. Very short segments instead of a chapter full of information that rambles on and on. Each chapter is full of short quickly reinforced numbered segments. At the end of each chapter is a self test with answers included.I’m glad I purchased this book. It’s great for my self study of electricity.

I knew that I had purchased this book 5 years ago and admittedly,I thought it was a book to help me in my DIY projects,I was going to use it to read something about wiring just today,I was dissappointed at first,bc this is not about DIY projects or wiring,no,this is much,much deeper and once I started reading I couldn t put it off, there is so much to learn in this book,I only know that I know next to nothing after reading a few pages,I will continue leraning from it.But this is not a book to learn about wiring or DIY projects,but it is a treasure for an inquisitive and curious mind,I am glad I bought it,I am sorry about the seller who let it go.

It is amazing how difficult it is to find an easy to read and simple explanation of basic electricity.For some reason people find it necessary to ramble on an on about vague, theoretical concepts that are difficult to apply to everyday situations. This book is not one of those.The clarity is outstanding and there are no missing pieces to the puzzle. The reader is not left to his own devices to work out a missing step that was not explained properly.Highly recommended for those wanting to start from the beginning and gain a working knowledge of electricity.

Not good for adults not schooled, no audio to listen while driving 6-8hrs daily

This book is used in a lot of courses to teach Basic Electricity. Yopu can ground yourself pretty well in the subject just by going through the book and worlking the problems. Worth the effort if you have to deal with electricity, even if you are only into computers, it doesn't hurt to know how the juice flows.
